Rep. Grace Meng Elected Vice Chair of Democratic National Committee

Rep. Grace MengCongresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) was elected Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. She was unanimously elected by DNC members at the party’s post-Democratic National Convention meeting today in Philadelphia.

“I am deeply honored to be chosen for the position of Vice Chair and I thank my DNC colleagues for having confidence in my ability to serve in this leadership role,” said Meng.

“Democrats have an ambitious and robust agenda that includes such critical items as immigration reform, gun safety legislation, helping middle class families and much more. I look forward to tackling these measures, and helping to get them enacted with the next President of the United States Hillary Clinton.”

Meng is presently serving her second term in Congress, representing the New York City borough of Queens She is the first Asian American Member of Congress from the State of New York, and the only Asian American Member of Congress in the Northeast.
